Kids Russia 2017: Diversity of opportunities and new horizons

From February 28 to March 2, 2017 in Moscow, at the Crocus Expo IEC, the most significant spring event for the children's goods industry took place - the 11th International Specialized Exhibition of Goods for Children Kids Russia 2017. Traditionally, the event took place on the same site with Licensing World Russia is the only specialized exhibition on licensing in Russia and the CIS countries.
The main interest of professional visitors to the exhibition was caused by tracking new products and future market trends. Once again, the exhibition confirmed its high status as a leading and trendsetting industry event.
242 exhibitors from 12 countries of the world (2016: 221 exhibitors from 11 countries of the world) presented their innovations to the industry market. An important trend is the increase in the number of new exhibitors. This year their number was 62 companies. The exhibitors were able to take into account the needs of trade representatives, which should have a positive impact on the post-exhibition activities. The result of the justified expectations of the exhibitors is a high degree of readiness - over 90% of the surveyed exhibitors intend to take part in the exhibition next year.
“We are participating in this exhibition for the first time. Here we show only new items from a huge range of our products. In our business, pre-orders are placed until the end of March, so it is very important for us to present the new products specifically on Kids Russia and collect the opinions of our customers, ”said Irina Komarova, director of the Russian representative office of Karlsbach
The exposition of Licensing World Russia was presented by 32 companies. Exhibitors include all leading rights holders and licensing agencies operating in Russia. The third year in a row, Nickelodeon Viacom Consumer Products together with the licensing agency Pullman Licensing LLC acted as the general partner of the Licensing World Russia 2017 exhibition.
“This is a key exhibition in Russia on licensing. It has become a place where everyone who is somehow connected with licenses can find out everything that happens in the licensing market. New companies that are considering licensed products for the first time also come here, this year there were 10% more than in the past, ”said Petya Toncheva, licensing director at Nickelodeon Viacom Consumer Products in Russia, the CIS, Ukraine and the Baltic States.
The total number of visitors to the exhibition in 3 days was 11 618 people, of which 96% were industry specialists (2016: 11396 people, of whom 95% were industry specialists).

Special zones of the Kids Russia 2017 exhibition also attracted a lot of attention from a professional audience. Whats New! Center for New Products received the highest rating. It introduced visitors to the trends of the season and the know-how of the children's goods industry
“At the What’s New! New Product Center! we presented the designer “Fanklastik”, which aroused great interest among the guests of the exhibition, and we were able to hold about thirty product presentations and successful negotiations with representatives of a number of trading companies, ”Nina Myshanskaya, the commercial director of Fanklastik, summed up the results of the exhibition.
For the first time, the All Russia Forum of Suppliers and Retailers of Children's Goods, Kids Retail Speech Forum, organized by Quorum, was held at the Kids Russia exhibition. The event was devoted to discussing trends in the market for children's products from various points of view: manufacturers, distributors, suppliers, retail, researchers, advertising agencies. For 2 days, industry experts presented analytical data, best practices and business cases to market professionals. Forum participants are: GfK RUS, Nielsen, IDEAS4RETAIL \ HAMLEYS, Gulliver, Auchan, LENTA, OK, Magnit, Yandex Market, AliExpress, Burger King and others.
